wife to bryan mother to kenny elizabeth and baby lucas im so happy and i love life
There were some sources out there that I read that talked about how to pump and dump that you can look in to. I was just to nervours that I would not get it all out so I didn't! It's all a matter of personal choice. Do some research and then see how comfortable you are!!
If you can drive you can nurse. No need to pump and dump or not enjoy a drink the amounts of alcohol is in such minute doses that it is harmless.
I have a glass of red one here and there. I never drink more than 1 glass in a sitting and I never get buzzed or drunk. I still nurse.
Pump and dump is a myth it goes by how much time has passed since the last drink. By the time the alcohol has mostly passed from the bloodstream it is no longer in the milk. What I do is just pump enough that day or if i have any stored milk in the freezer thaw it out and have it ready so if he gets hungry while I am drinking it is not a problem since he takes the bottle now. I personally wouldnt chance just timing it because i have a very hungry baby who wants to eat more then every 2 hours at times. I personally wouldn't want to nurse until hours later even longer then they reccommend just to be on the safe side because i got pretty buzzed of 2 glasses of wine recently because it has been so long since I have drank. If your baby takes an occasional bottle than I would say thats the best bet but like another poster said very minute amounts even go to the baby there is probably more alcohol in some medicines that they still give to babies.

It works the same as it does in your blood. Once the alcohol is out of your blood, it's also out of your milk. I have only had one drink since I started breastfeeding. I waited about 3 hours before feeding my DS. It wqas at night and he wa asleep so it worked out well.
Safe to drive, safe to nurse. That simple. Unless you are in the habit of getting blotto, no need to even think the words "pump and dump."
One drink, even two...just fine.
Many drinks? You're not safe to handle the baby let alone breastfeed.
oh this is great news! lol i have been craving a cheap beer for 12 months!!
