So my son and I both love Diego, Dora, and the Backyardagans (I probably mispelled that) but Xavier also likes "The Wonder Pets" and they really really bother me. Well the Duck really really bothers me. How do you make a cartoon with a character who can't speak correctly when this is the age we are trying to get our children to speak correctly. Am I alone??

Sesame street has a bear with a lisp.

I actually like the wonder pets.  Much more bearable than Yo Gabba Gabba, which my son LOVES.  UGH!

And I cant stand Dora and Diego.

My 3 year old likes to watch 'the teletubbies' videos.I can't stand them but whatever keeps her happy while I'm busy with her baby sister, makes me happy:)  All they can say is "uh oh".

I dislike a lot of the cartoons they have Yo Gabba Gabba is definately annoying and creepy, my youngest dd likes Ni Hao, Kai Lan.  It's kinda cute it reminds me of Dora but in Chinese.  We keep the tv running pretty much all afternoon/evening because I want people to know someone's in the house, but we rarely stay in the room with it anymore even my 6 yr old dd questions why there are no parents on certain shows and why characters bully each other.

I like the wonder pets for the fact that they encourage team work  and thinking/talking things out to solve a problem.  they can be annoying to me as an adult, but I think they do teach a valuable skill.  I think any particular show in moderation is OK if a parent is aware of the content.  personally i do like most  nick jr and sprout  shows including sesame street . my dc kids right now really like elmo .  if it gets too annoying to me i play music which the kids also enjoy.  today i put in Kenny G holiday collection and the kids loved it. we listened during lunch and clapped and moved to the music after lunch was done.  it was a good way to wind down before nap.

The duck's speech bothers me on that show as well.  I like the show otherwise.

My kids love The Fresh Beat Band.  Annoying but I find myself singing their songs.  They also like Max & Ruby...it's the only show they are calm while watching.

My daughter's fav was always Dora when she was younger.  She is almost 8 now and watches the older shows mostly, but she also likes Ni Ha Kia An (I can't remember how to spell it correctly), and absoultly loves Cyber Chase, but again that is a bit of an older kids show.

My son loves Sesame Street.  He stops in his tracks when it is on.  It is still a staple, and even with some of the changes that I don't really like (no more Count :( !!), it is still one of the best kids shows out there.

my 2 yo has several he likes right now but his absolute favorite is Super Why and he talks along with it trying to sound out letters and pick out the correct letter from the alphabet line up. I guess the one he asks for second most he calls "T-Bone" which is really Clifford the Big Red Dog.

we do like wonder pets too but don't get that channel anymore.

Yes I agree the duck bugs me.  They will watch it, but not around me!!  My kids like spongebob (and I do too), and the Imagnation movers (which I also like a lot).  Public television has some good tunes too like Arthur and Martha Speaks. OH and I LOVE YO GABBA GABBA!!!!
