Does anyone have any idea why my 2 week old son would breastfeed then cry then want to nurse some more ?
This. Our pedi put NIco on Zantac.
Quoting BabyJae:He could have acid reflux. My son had that and got it around 2 to 3 weeks old. He did the same thing. I could also hear his stomach make all these funny noises. Check with your doctor.

My sons stomach makes all those little bubbly sounds too my MIL says it probably has something to do with me breastfeeding (of course she is all for the formula feeding and it makes me mad how she acts about it) but any way I have already looked up all the foods to avoid while nurseing and been avoiding them but he still acts that way a couple of times a day thanks for the advice he goes for a check up dec9th i am definitly going to ask the doctor about it
Yes Andrew is on Zantac also well I actually just took him off a couple days ago because he seem to have out grew the acid reflux.

Really? I took Nico off the Zantac a month ago - he seemed to have outgrown it also! But now he is sobbing randomly in his sleep (doc says it isn't reflux again), so I am thinking of putting him back on it.....

Yes. I'm not sure if I am having the same problem as you might. Andrew was sick over the weekend with a cold and he is alot better now but I took him off the zantac a day before he got sick and he has been waking up at night ever since. Not sure if it's his cold and his nose being stuffy or if its the reflux. So I have been thinking about puting him back on zantac too.

Could also be overactive letdown...does your milk flow quickly? THis is FAR more common than reflux, which is as overdiagnosed as ADD.
Also...to a certain degree his behavior is normal.

Sometimes after he gets through they do still spray out milk is there a way to control this or is it just something that will go away with time since we are still starting out nursing
