my little one is 8 months old and breast fed, she does get some baby food usually about 3 times a day. i will admit it i am HORRIBLE about taking my birth control. i havn't gotten my cycle back, but does anyone know what the chances of getting pregnant like this are?
If you're having sex, I'd say the chances are pretty good. :)
Quoting northernmommy:k, i just wanted to check cause i has read that breast feeding can act as a form of birth control but i wasn't sure as to how realiable that information was
Well...EXCLUSIVE breastfeeding can suppress ovulation and work as birth control in the first six months. But I've known FAR too many moms who got pregnant in the first six months while nursing exclusively to be able to trust it.
Once solids are introduced, forget it.
If remembering to take birth control is a problem (it is for me, too) then look at something like an IUD that you never have to remember.
I will stand up and say that I'm the poster mom for thinking it works. My wonderful son Aiden was born when I used breastfeeding as a form of birth control after 6 months. If you're not ready for another one, you need to use something.

my DH and i discussed it and we had both decided that if i get pregnant again i get pregnant but if i do i'm going to get my tubes tied after the next baby. He would honestly prefer 3 more kids but there is no way i would be able to handle 6 kids lol

you should always be having sex like your going to get pregnant that time because you never know. it is very possible to get pregnant with no period and while breastfeeding (there are many here who will say they have) have you thought of any other forms of bc? condoms, iud (i love my paragard and no hormones) the depo shot, implanon?

noooooooooooooooooooooooooo way! no way, lol. my good friend got pregnant with twins thinking BF'ing was a form of BC. ahhh, just like an actual BC pill, they dont always prevent it either. I was on the Depo shot when i got preg with my son.
I STILL BF my 17 month old son,is that ok?
I have pitbulls and they are terrible, they lick my sons face and cuddle up with him at night.
