besides claritin ( doesn't work that well for me) and benydrl (makes me to sleepy) what allergy meds can I take? My son is 18mo old and is almost 34 lbs so not a small kid at all.
Chlor Trimeton (chlorpheniramine maleate). It won't make you as sleepy as Benadryl. Plus, if you take the Benadryl at night (assuming you aren't co sleeping, I did this pre-kids) you can gradually get used to it so you can take it in the day time without passing out.

thank you! unfortunately I am co-sleeping which is why I won't don't like benadryl. I was thinking of just taking small doses and building up so I build up a tolerance to the drowsiness.
Quoting BellahMom:
How often are you nursing? What is your allergy? What are your symptoms?

I'm nursing 12+ times a day still. We can't figure out what I'm allergic to. I'm sneezing, itchy eyes, and headaches.

So what I am going to suggest and this is only if you have no underlying medical conditions but you should try acidophillus. Its all natural healthy to take any way and doesnt get into your milk. My kids took it for thier allergies until thier sympotms disapered and now they have really no issues. I cant garrentee that it will help since we dont know what your allery IS but its inexpensive healthy and usually helps with this sort of thing =]
