Fussy, Eating ALOT

I am sure this is a normal baby thing but I have to write/vent/ask for advice.

My son is 2 months old and he eats like every 2 hours about. Usually for like 10 minutes, sometimes 15.

But today has just gone crazy since 3pm he wanted to eat non stop until like 5:30. He wouldn't sleep, wouldn't take his paci, even me holding him didn't really calm him. He just wanted a breast. He cannot possibly be that hungry can he? And usually if he overeats he will throw up alot (he has bad reflux) so I don't want to keep feeding him. He finally went to sleep for almost an hour but now I hear him fussing again and I am *pretty sure* he's wanting a breast again.

Any ideas? =/ I feel badly I will give him my breast again and again but it's kind of frustrating. I don't know what could of sparked this constant urge.

Definitley time for that growth spurt! LOL I know how you feel, my daughter would eat for an hour and a half sometimes during a growth spurt, I remember my parents would call me and ask what I was doing and I would say "oh the usual" and they would just laugh. It's totally normal. Just continue to feed him on demand. He will do those quick ten min feedings off and on to let your body know to produce more milk so it can keep up with him..and then he will just chow. My daughter would get sick sometimes too during the long feeds, but she would want to continue so I would just let her and the spurt would stop and then a few months later start all over again. Keep up the great work and don't stress too much about it.

Just a thought... Does he maybe have gas?

When my boy was about that age, he had really bad gas and the only thing that made him feel better was the boob... but I think that made his gas worse.  The more he nursed, the more gas he had, the more he wanted to comfort nurse;  It was a vicious cycle there for a little while.  I had to keep pushing his knees into his stomach and that helped him pass the gas.  Its worth a try anyways

Going through the SAME thing at 5 weeks. I just watched an entire movie...most of the time with him on the boob! Lastnight I finally caved and layed down in the bed, moved pillows out of the way (just in case) and nursed him on my side 'till we both fell asleep (him deeper than me but at least I got some rest!).  I've been afraid of him getting worse gas, too, from overeatting, but it seems to be the only way to soothe him is to let him nurse... this too shall pass... I hope. :)

Well he's a bit late then lol because he's 11 weeks now!! LOL. I could try the gassy thing but he doesn't seem uncomfortable or anything just fussy and hungry. Very hungry he's moving his lips around looking for the boob. Is it possible to run out of milk while feeding? Lol. Like him completely emptying a breast what happens then? just curious. I think it may of happened a couple times lol.
