I bought a Moby Wrap and don't like it at all.  I have a small frame; 5ft tall and 100lbs and I felt like I was drowning in a sea of fabric.  But that's the only wrap I tried.  We use a front backpack style carrier, but it doesn't work for nursing.

I love my ring sling.  I made this one myself because i can't afford 60-80 bucks for one.  I found a really hidious one at a second hand shop and used that for a while but have since cut the rings out and made a more attractive one in the same style.  It worked great when my 1 month old was a newborn and works now and works well with my 2 year old as well.  Its easy to get my baby out of her convertable seat and into the sling and makes shopping trips with a 1 month old, a 2 year old and a 5 year old very doable.  When I wear my 2 year old she is very well supported and my back doesn't hurt carrying her for long periods like it does if I am just holding her.  She LOVES it too.  Last time I wore her she fell asleep and it was effortless to walk around with her.  I love that ring slings are easy to adjust, and the tale gives extra privacy or warmth when out and about.

I love my ring sling, for all of the reasons the PP mentioned. I swear I could not live without it! I have tried all different types of carriers, but always go back to the ring sling.

I just bought a Moby Wrap.  It is a lot of fabric especially considering I'm 5'3" and about 110-115 lbs normally.  I've been practicing tying it and it's really easy to use, I just have to wrap extra fabric around me.  It's very comfortable and it seems easy enough to breastfeed in.  I did not choose a ring sling because you can only put it on one shoulder.  The Moby uses both shoulders so the weight is more evenly distributed and it also can accomodate a toddler up to 35 lbs supposedly.  I'm excited to use it when my baby gets here.  I had a traditional front carrier with my first and hated it.  It killed my back.

my favorite changeds depending on my babie's size and what we were doing. My favorites are mei teis and ring slings.

"If a multinational company developed a product that was a nutritionally balanced and delicious food, a wonder drug that both prevented and treated disease, cost almost nothing to produce and could be delivered in quantities controlled by the consumers' needs, the very announcement of their find would send their shares rocketing to the top of the stock market. The scientists who developed the product would win prizes and the wealth and influence of everyone involved would increase dramatically. Women have been producing such a miraculous substance, breastmilk, since the beginning of human existence..."

is there a store near you that sells them so you can try them out before you buy?  it all depends on your body type on what one will fit you best.  i loved my ring sling in the beginning, but now my baby is getting bigger I love my ergo carrier, it seems to distribute the weight better.

ok with the updated info i'd recc a woven or gauze wrap or a podaegi. all three are super versitile and able to accomodate your frame and chest and a growing baby for as long as you wanna wear while not aggrevating your back condition :)

I have a Moby wrap. I loved it when my daughters were younger, but now that my youngest is almost 20 pounds, she's starting to droop to my knees. I'm 5'1". I got a ring sling and it's wonderful!! It's comfortable and I can use the "tail" to cover up while I'm nursing. I can carry her facing me or facing out right now. She's still too little to go on my hip or my back, but I do put my 22 month old on my back and am perfectly comfortable.

People need to understand that when they're deciding between breastmilk and formula, they're not deciding between Coke and Pepsi.... They're choosing between a live, pure substance and a dead substance made with the cheapest oils available.  ~Chele Marmet

My baby was born in Nov, and I just want to say, that I tried to wear my baby, I made my own wrap that resembled a moby/ He got so overheated and threw a fit and sweated everytime I tried to wear him. He is still like that, when he sleeps he just sweats, with blankets or without. so be careful because I got really hot too from his body heat! If there is a wrap that will keep you both cool, I would reccomend that, or if there isnot one, I will invent one!lol
