Sleeping at night question

Hello All,

My son is 9 week old. He usually sleeps around 3 hours in between feedings at night. Last night he slept for five hours before waking up to eat. Is this normal or okay? I am worried because its not his usual pattern. Should I send more milk to daycare today then I normally would because he didn't get up 3 times to eat only 1?

Thanks,

Mags

nothing to worrie about he wasnt hungry. He shouldnt need anymore milk during the day, but if it makes you feel better go ahead. Have worry free day!!!

Babies need the same amount of bm in a 24 hour period.  So if he didnt wake to eat, he may need more during the day. I would send it just to be safe.

Send the same amount, always. They get more efficient as they get older...he probably took in more.

But don't get too used to the sleeping pattern...he will change it!

My daughter is 6 weeks old and sleeps through the night, she usually does a 6-7 hour stretch then she wakes up every 3 to eat.  If you want send more to daycare just in case, don't worry babies eat when they are hungry.

I had the same worries, but it never changed what the baby ate at school. Of course, Feed her right before you bring her. Also I always keep a couple frozen bags at school, just in case. But they have never fed her more than 12 oz in 10 hours.
