 Hello Everyone,

Firstly, let me introduce myself. My name is Lynn, Im 31 and I have 2 children. Josh who is almost 12, and Xavier, who is 2 and a half months old.

I have a question.

I am EBF Xavier, and I have noticed that my right side is noticably larger than my left side. Is there anything I can do to bring up my milk output on my left side?

I drink alot of water, I eat oatmeal daily, and Ive noticed that my right side produces way more then my left. I know I know that a baby is better at getting milk out than a pump, but when I pump, I can get anywhere from 3 to 5 oz's out of my right, and maybe 2 out of my left.

I dont want to be lopsided anymore if you know what I mean, so Im just wondering what I can do to increase supply on just one side.

Any help would be great. Thanks

This is normal. You can pump is or nurse it more...but not likely to ever see evenness. Eight years after weaning, *I* see unevenness in myslef but my husband says I'm nuts. YOU see it more harshly than anyone else ever will.

Don't worry about it. Honestly. This is like being right or left handed...one side always produces more and ALL of us are lopsided to a certain degree. Some see it more than others. It WILL even out as time goes on but you will forever notice a difference. And if your husband is a mensch, he'll tell you that you're nuts. IF he complains, I'll lend you my baseball bat.

The joys of bfing, lol. I breastfed all 4 of my boys and my right side was always bigger. Not sure what causes it but nothing I tried helped fix it. Just a note I had trouble with my supply for my last one and finally realized that my smaller side wasnt producing at all. I bf him for 14 months on one side. Good luck .

I have always produced way more on the right side than the left with all my kids. I try to feed a little more on the left to get the amount to even out, but after about 3-4 months, it usually does on it's own.

Some day they may even out, but for now, you're normal.

That's actually pretty normal. My left was alway a better nurser than my right.
