I have been fighting a very sore nipple on the right since Adalyn was born.  She will be 4 weeks saturday.  I have had a yeast infection in my nipples that I thought was going to kill me.   My nipple was becoming very sore to latch onto again and upon looking at it closey it looks like she isnt getting enough of the bottom of my nipple in.  I aim to top of my nipple to the roof of her mouth but she is making a little lip or shelf like projection on the top of my nipple.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

TIA

There are videos on youtube that show the correct way to latch a baby.  The only thing I knwo to tell you is to make sure her mouth is open wide before you push your nipple in.  Tickle her chin a little bit and she should open.  This is the rooting reflex.
