I'm applying for a job with the state to be an office assistant. So, I don't really know when I'll be going back to work. I haven't had a job while nursing in 17 years and then it was only for a few weeks.

How soon should I start pumping? I know the jobs I might get will be 8 hour days, so I'm thinking 4 2oz bottles a day, or maybe even 8 1oz bottles, only because my dd doesn't like bottles and only takes about an oz when we've tried. I realize she probably will behave differently after she's away from me for extended periods.

I have good supply so I'm not worried about supply issues. Do I wait till I know I have a job and just try to get the milk on a day by day basis? Or what?

When I was pumping for my last dd, I was always with her and just pumped after each bottle for the next feeding and never had more than a bottle waiting at a time.

Won't hurt to start now. Pump in the mornings. Worst that can happen is you have extra milk stored.
