I don't want another infection!

My 13 month twins typically nurse 3 times a day.  Yesterday they skipped their mid-day feeding.  They sure nursed really well then before bed!  This morning  the whole top half of my right breast is hard- I've had mastitis twice before and I'm worried that it's starting again.  No fever, no inflammation, etc.  Could missing one feeding do this?  Should I nurse extra today or will that make it worse to be encouraging more milk?  I'm not weaning, we just were out yesterday and they never "asked" so I didn't push nursing.

With twins it may make a difference.  With them being as old as they are and only nursing 3 times a day it shouldn't make a difference.  It may just be a clogged duct.  Lots of massages and if you can, take a warm shower and run the water over it really well.

Good luck.  I know it can be so painful. ((HUGS))

Oh and I think you are awesome for still nursing 13  month old twins.  YOU GO MAMA!
