Hiccups

My baby never had hiccups in the womb, but now since being born (almost 4 wks ago), she gets hiccups after every meal. Dr. says to nurse to get them to go away, but she doesn't get them until after she has a full belly. Any ideas of how to help?  She gets really fussy after about 5 min. of hiccuping.

Changing position might help. Unfortunately its one of those things that just has to be lived through. She's not old enough for the standard hiccup cures...

Although... I do remember that a good tug on the tongue is supposed to help adjust the vagus nerve. I don't know that I'd do it on a newborn, though.

Mine was hiccupy too. He did outgrow it sometime after the two month mark.

I hope she outgrows it soon.  I knew not to use the standard hiccup cures.  If it didn't seem to upset her so much, I would just ignore it.  I will try changing her position to see if that helps.
