Breastfeeding produces needy, whiney, clingy children

What do you think of this statement? I've heard this before (not with all 3 words, but that it produces clingy or whiney, or needy kids, guess its all the same, right?)

Do you think YOUR children are needy?

*I think its kinda weird to describe a baby or young child as "needy"...what exactly is "needy" when it comes to a baby/toddler? Of course they NEED you...your mama

Untrue. My son, a breastfed child, is one of the most independent babies I know. In fact, the only baby at the mommy & me play date not clinging to his mothers leg!

My son is a mama's boy but I don't think its because I breastfed him.

HAHAHA! I dont know the person, but the most recent time I heard it was checking out at the store and a woman asked how I feed Dylan, I told her breastfeeding and another woman with her said "Oh I could never BF my children, I didn't want them to be clingy kids".

I thought she was incredibly rude and yes, idiot and moron came right to mind when she talked. It felt like a direct hit against ME, personally, since she said it RIGHT after I told her how I feed him!!!

I would say "Yeah, she is pretty needy. So you have the strong, silent, independent type right? I heard Charlie Manson was just the same way!"

Babies are needy. They poop themselves. They expect to be bathed and carried and fed. They are born with no survival skills.

Some people are just morons
