any tips for an eye infection?

I'm pretty sure my 17 month old has one.  I called the ped. and they said it was either that or allergies and to bring her in.  I want to try using breast milk to clear it up before I take her in just for them to give her antibiotics.  She only nurses 1-3 times at night, so I tried squirting some in her eye last night right after she nursed and she got SO mad at me.  It was kinda cute actually, but not productive. lol  So any tips from mamas who have been there done that?  I can hand express a little into a cup if need be, and I have an eye dropper.  I just don't see me being successful at this, she's too dang stubborn.

BM as eye drops works best, 3 times a day is what we did and in 2-3 days it was clear.
