dental problems?

One of my wisdom teeth is broken. Half the tooth is missing and I think I'm going to need to get it pulled. I'd like to go to the dentist with some info about medications. Are there meds that are commonly used for dental work that need to be off limits? Are there certain meds we can use? Mostly I am worried about the pain med for the actually tooth extraction and the antibiotic for after. I will make do with ibuprofin after. I know I can check kellymom, but I'm not even sure where to start, so I was hoping maybe someone has had similar work done.

The most dangerous thing your dentist can give you is the BILL. And that's only hazardous to your bank account.

The LactMed database will give you comfort. You can read all the studies of how the meds pass through the body and if they even get into your milk.

I had a molar extracted with just lidocaine. I nursed a couple hours later. They gave darvocet for pain (they knew I was breastfeeding) but ibuprofen did the trick just fine.
