Do babies get pimples when starting solids?

My 10.5 month old has been eagerly experimenting with solids the last two weeks , but in their excitement to be responsive, my husband and MIL have let him try so many things the past few days that I can't keep count .  Now the past week my son is waking up every morning with what appears to be new pimples (mostly on the face, but a couple on his shoulder, heel and back) .................previously his skin was flawless.  Our laundry technique hasn't changed, and the bumps don't appear to be bites of any kind .... they really look like pimples.

Could the outbreak be food related or should I be looking for some other cause?

Admittedly my food diary is less that complete - but I know he has tried puree of black beans and humus; zucchini mashed with rice, both raw tomato & fresh orange ( that was due to grabbing by the baby at the farmers market) , potato & carrot, yogurt mashed with banana - which he ate occasionally before this problem started, but no one thing repeatedly, except black beans and the yogurt banana mix
