Nursing & a runny nose....???

My poor baby is 8 1/2 months and seems to have her first cold. Either that, allergies, or teething. Anyway her nose is sooo runny, sucking it out  only works for like 30 seconds because once she starts eating it all comes running. Any suggestions???

I'm sorry your baby isn't feeling well.  My son used to getting colds and runny noses all the time, and it makes nursing really difficult.  One thing that worked for us was a humidifier with the Vicks VapoSteam in it.  I'm not sure how it works exactly, but it did make his nose better (and actually, when I had a cold, it really helped me out too).  The other thing that could work is sitting in the bathroom with the shower running on hot to get the steam.  That will also work a bit to help and clear the baby's nose.  I hope she gets better soon!

Breastmilk in the nose can also help.
