breastfeeding help

I am breastfeeding for a month an I think lil jermain have thursh he gave white build on his touge but he eat just fine I try to clean it but it do not come off and it hurt me when I feed him he have an appointment wenesday how do you know if he have it what to do for the pain

your doc can diagnose it. she'll give you Nystatin more than likely. for some it helps- me... not so much. We use Gentian Violet!

From your description, it does sound like thrush.  Don't try to wipe it anymore, though.

Definitely sounds like thrush. The doctor will probably give nystatin. You have to apply it religiously and wash everything (bras, bedding) and wash your breasts & baby's mouth after every single feeding...it's a huge pain, but not harmful.

not er worthy. if you want to try Nystatin you can probably call the doc to phone in the prescription. my doc will prescribe it without seeing based on a description.

Caveat on the Nystatin, though... it fails as often as it works. 

Check out the thrush entry on kellymom.com. Over the counter remedies you can pick up tonight or in the morning.
