I use a Boppy and I supported her neck for the first month or two - I'd fold up a receiving blanket to go behind her neck as a cushion and then put my hand under her back (i did a football hold). Once she had solid head control, I stopped using the blanket

Thanks for asking this. I bought one for when this baby comes out (41weeks). The boppy doesn't fit me right. I was told you don't need to support the head with it... Glad you asked this!

I used it the first few weeks with DS ... it was great and I didn't need any other pillows or support except for a pillow behind my back in the recliner...

I used mine for the first 10 months. I held her head to keep her focused at times. We switched back to our Boppy when she got her first cold. She needed to nurse upright and it was more flexible. I love my Brest friend more. We've been everywhere together. I just wish I had a spare cover for when I washed it. You are supposed to air dry it. I just used my Boppy then. By far my best breastfeeding tool purchase for this nursling. I wish I would have had it for my son. It has been a true lifesaver. Congrats on the baby!

I used my boppy and a folded recieving blanket under her head for her "pillow" until she got a little bigger. Then I stopped using the boppy all together and I've just recently brought it back out when I need to do something on the computer and she wants to comfort nurse. Shes 7m now

When using MBF, I would use it to prop my arm (which supported baby's head) until baby was big enough to lay on the nursing pillow without needing the extra lift and support of my arm.

I used one a lot when baby was new. I had a C-section and the pillow helped lift LO to the right height until I recovered / got stronger. Stopped me from hunching over.

I like that it is rigid and it helped me keep my daughter level. My son would sink into the Boppy. The pocket is nice as well, I use a nipple shield and keep the container in there and my phone. I have a fuzzy cover and it feels nice. I don't have a recliner to nurse in so, I like the rigidity.
