So today Bentley had his 2 mo well check... went great. He is 13 lbs 75% 24.75 in long 95% and his head was 15.25 30% so he is growing big and strong. I told him what the lc said last week about reflux or dairy sensitivity. He said it definitely was NOT reflux. He is doing well for it to be reflux... he said that dairy sensitivity is possible but to work on my oal a bit more... I told him I had already stopped eating dairy.. he showed me how much fluid an oz was when its spilled out.. and its a lot... he called the lc " your breastfeeding lady".. it was funny. he told me if wanted to supplement with vit d I could... he said it wouldn't hurt but it isn't necessary. He doesn't think rickets is an issue with my DS. We did decide to vax... but overall I'm happy with how pleased he was about me continuing to bf. I knew he was bfing friendly but I didn't realize how pro bfing he was... he said I was doing everything right and to continue doing what I'm doing....

awww :) he's a cutie!!! I'm glad the appointment went well.

What was the issue you were having that made you think reflux or dairy sensitivity?

Extreme gassiness and projectile vomiting after I had though the oal was under control now that I have started doing longer blocks it is so much better... I am doing 8 hr blocks and he rarely has gas and is vomiting a lot less.

He is a big baby. Some people think that is fine. I worry about big babies. My suggestion would be to breastfeed using one breast a feeding but you are already doing that with block feeding. My breastfed boys were around 17 pounds at 12 months and 13 pounds at 2 months seems so big. The concern for the baby is obesity. We now know that breastfed babies can weigh too much and obesity can begin as an infant.

Another concern is how are you going to carry him. It is great for a baby/toddler to be carried in slings and carriers as long as possible. If a baby is heavy that is probably not going to happen or not going to happen as long. The mother and baby miss out on this experience and it is good for the baby's development.

I don't mean to be saying bad things about your happy check-up. Just something to think about.

Actually we just had a HUGE discussion in here yesterday and it is impossible to over feed an exclusively breastfeed baby.
What is she supposed to do? Put him on a diet? No, right? Well if there's no way to "fix the problem" then it must not be a problem. :) she just makes fat booby babies. :)
My son was a fat booby baby, now he's a skinny little thing...:) (like seriously skinny... 30th percentile... That's just the way our genes run, though, lol)

I agree with srbeusk you cant overfeed from the tap Cute baby!

I would assume dairy isn't an issue - a big symptom of dairy sensitivity is low weight gain BUT sometimes babies only show 1 symptom. Beware of hidden dairy!

Her baby is beautiful and a healthy chunk!!
You cannot overfeed a bfing baby!! And anyways, you can still wear a heavier bf baby.
