I'm 31, and due with a little girl in April. This will be my third child and the third child that I have breastfed.
Everyone has different goals with breastfeeding. My personal goals are 6mos of exclusive breastfeeding, breastfeeding + solids after 6mos, and then child led weaning with a minimum of 2 years of nursing as per the World Health Organization. With my first I met those goals, with my second there have been hiccups such as introduction of solids at 5mos due to low weight gain (which made the problem worse since his issue was a tongue tie that eventually got clipped at 8mos), and my second son has mostly weaned at 19mos due to my being pregnant with his little sister.
You'll see me along with the other moderators in the group answering questions, doling out support, offering encouragement and congratulations, and seeking answers for ourselves as well. :)
My name is Heather. I am a mother of 3. I have two boys and a girl. I breastfed both boys and am currently bf my daughter. She is 5 months old and is still waking every 2-3 hours to feed. Any tips on pumping so I can store some and maybe once and a while go out or have my husband feed her at night?????
My name is Amber.
I'm 19, my step son, Oliver, is 2 and my first baby, Mason Matthew, will be here in March. I plan to breastfeed my baby because I want the best nutrition for him and because it is a bonding opportunity I refuse to pass up. My mother did not breast feed and my aunt had to stop early on because her supply dried up so I don't really have a lot of "tech support" from the family. Needless to say, I was very happy to see this group. :)
Hi, I am Dawn.. an IBCLC, LLL Leader, and a Moderator in Breastfeeding Moms. It is a pleasure to be here with all of you, sharing information and support in breastfeeding and motherhood in general! I am also a happily married wife of sixteen years and stay at home mom homeschooling our four children, all of whom have been exclusively breastfed their first year of life and naturally weaned.... except for the baby, who is contentedly still nursing!
