Hello, on baby #2. She is due Nov. 29. I have a 3 year old girl and breast fed her, plan on doing the same with the new baby, however, I am current attending college and I am a sophomore at a local community college in the nursing program, which is very rigourous. I hope to still have time to breast feed. lol any pointers! It was so easy with the first because I was able to stay home for 6 to 7 weeks and I was able to pump at work!
Hello, ladies(and gentlemen??),
My name is Channing and my husband and I moved to Newport, Oregon while I was pregnant with my son Odin Rishi who is now four and a half months old! :) We have had challenges with breastfeeding (overactive let down, thrush, etc.) but are still going strong EBF. He was 10lbs 4oz when he was born and he is now 19.5 lbs! Breastfeeding isn't easy (or hasn't been for us, anyway) but it's absolutely worth any necessary troubleshooting. I will continue to nurse him for as long as he wishes and/or as long as I can. (We plan on having another child in 2-3 years and I'm not sure what that will mean for my milk supply)
Anyone located anywhere near Newport, Oregon...? Or Corvallis, Oregon? We are planning on moving there as soon as we can. Anyway, thank you for having me. Looks like a swell group! :)
Cheers,
Channing Q. Carter <:3 )~~~
Pump about 30 minutes after you have breastfed the baby, have the baby close so you can see and hear the baby and that will help you when pumping, even hand expressing milk can sometimes help you to get more out, get breast milk storage bags and if the baby hasent drank out of the bottle with mommas milk 2 days in frig, once baby drinks from bottle 2 hours, and if you freez it (put in back of freezer so opening door will not bother it) 6 months. If baby is fed from bottle with pre expressed milk you will need to pump for that feed so you supply dont drop, so i would pump 30 minutes after feed untill i had enough to feed him 3 times because it may take you 5 or more times pumping to get that and this way you will be a little more use to it and when you start using your stored milk you can just pump that one feed and be good.
