I am not a closet nurser. I have had problems with friends talking behind my back due to the fact I live SD where its very conservitive. I made a post about how it bothered me. I then had people say they were closet nursers. I find it very sad that our socity has made this an issue. It made me realize I wanted to know as much as I could about mom nursing past 6 mo. I was thinking I would work ona book made up of stories on troubles people have had and how moms become closet nursers so people know they are not alone when secretly nursing. I nursed my son till he stopped at alittle after three. I felt fine doing this if he got hurt or at friends houses. I found out people would ask my good friend about it. I looked into it realizing I was the only one who breastfed past 6mo out of my close friends I made two friends who have breastfed longer than that. It made me sad. It was bonding time that people see as something sick. I don't get it.

i nursed on demand, so it was when ever ds needed it.

ds nursed until he was 3 yrs 3 months and 27 days old.  i just dont get others peoples gross views on nursing. i tell them, shut up get over it or go away!

I plan to NIP as long as baby really needs to. Once they get into the toddler years and mostly nurse for naps ect I'd try to distract or encourage to wait...but age regardless of my baby really needed it now, id feed her.

I voted 3 and up because I nursed my son in public a handful of times in the last year.  Now, he is 4 and only nurses at home and usually in bed.  I was never a "closet" nurser.  He just doesn't need to nurse when we are out anymore.

I didn't vote because we're still nursing and not stopping until she's ready :)
I've NIP a couple times, other than a couple guys gawking from their car, no one said or did anything, atleast that I could notice lol.

I voted 6-12 months because they are 8 months now. I apparently embarrassed my mil when i went to feed one of them in public this week and she walked away and went into a nearby store after arguing with me to wait until we got to the car or to walk out in the main area of the shopping center. It just made me laugh.

I voted 6-12 months because my babe is 8 months.  We will NIP until she is like 2 maybe...idk.

My LO is only 6 weeks and I just started nursing in public. I will continue to do so as long as she wants too!

Have any of you had problems with people saying things. I had a friend from down south that told me if I nursed on the street unclovered I could get arrested. She is a cop and was unsure what another cop would do.
