I went to the Mall this weekend to do some shopping. The mall is about an hour away. Of course by the time we get there my dd needs to be fed. I feed her discretely at the table where my son is eating a hamburger. We walk around the mall for a while and my dd wants to be fed again so I go to the bathroom area. Right outside the bathroom they have a sitting area. I started to bf my dd and this mall worker walks up and asks me not to feed my dd. To go to the bathroom. I am supposed to feed my baby in a nasty public bathroom. As back up she had a mall cop with her. wtf Has anyone else been asked to move to the bathroom? I did not go btw. I asked one of the stores if I could use a changing room. I am appalled at their audacity.
Update: I will be shopping at this mall again so I plan on feeding my baby when I go. I will not be hiding in a bathroom or a changing room. I plan on BF where ever I am when she needs it. Now that I know my rights for that state I will not hestitate to tell them to get lost. Thank you all for the wonderful support and advice on this subject. If they ask me to hide again, I will put together a Nurse In and make it very public.
What state are you in? Chances are it was the mall cop violating the law, not you!
I dont think they can do that....... Remember the whole Target epidemic? Id call management & express your concern!!! If they dont do anything contact the BF group who staged all those Target "feed-ins"..... Sorry that happened to you & good luck in the future!

Legally they can't make you! That is just ridiculous I would have been pissed!
I live in mn but went to ND to the mall there in Fargo. I was told that the BF room was under construction. I just googled the laws for that state and it was totally illegal for them to ask me to not BF! grrr wish I had known that I would have given them an ear full.
