Hello Ladies, I have a huge headache today.  One of my co-workers has advil. Is it ok to take it?

Ibuprofen is safe during breastfeeding but adviced against during PREGNANCY.

from LactMed:

Summary of Use during Lactation:
Because of its extremely low levels in breastmilk, short half-life and use in infants in doses much higher than those excreted in breastmilk, ibuprofen is a preferred choice as an analgesic or antiinflammatory agent in nursing mothers.

This is incorrect. Advil (ibuprofen) is perfectly safe for a nursing mother. It isn't safe in PREGNANCY, but nursing is fine.

Here's what Lactmed says:

" Because of its extremely low levels in breastmilk, short half-life and use in infants in doses much higher than those excreted in breastmilk, ibuprofen is a preferred choice as an analgesic or antiinflammatory agent in nursing mothers."
