Two things...the LC's at the hospital making you feel like a failure if you even thought of going to formula. And my dh lack of confidence thinking I wouldn't even last a week. Both sound mean but at the same time I do like to prove people wrong and either way it worked...six months an counting.
But on a positive note...our pediatrician kept telling me it would et easier and that my ds would still prefer me over the bottle. It put my worries to rest and really helped because she recently had a baby so it didn't feel like BS when she said these things to me.

We're having our 1st... All I hear is how difficult it is and that I should stock up on formula... I am so determined.

OMG.  I should say, though, that my best friend from high school sent me a Boppy...my other two kids are 15 and 20 years old respectively, ie, I'd never heard of any such thing when I had this baby 5 months ago. :)  but man, it sure does make breastfeeding more comfy than it was for me back in the Dark Ages...

First of all...it CAN be difficult...but certainly nt impossible. Don't let what other people tell you scare you. I wouldn't recommend even keeping formula in he house...that way NO ONE has temptation to use it. And as long as you can stay committed to it you will do great!! Honestly the first two weeks were the hardest for me...but looking back...it was totally worth every stressful tiring moment!!!

From a mom who heard that & listened with dS1...Dont buy it & don't allow any in the house so you don't have a choice!!!
