How much did the lactation consultant charge you for

  • Office visit
  • Home visit

Also did your insurance cover some part of it or no?

My insurance covered office visits.  I never tried a home visit, probably a good thing since a post-newborn house is also post-apocalyptic.

Never used one, I do help a lot of my friends with breastfeeding issues for free.

Call your insurance, they may cover it for you. Otherwise try the LLL, the hospital, WIC. Some LC's are willing to work with you for payments also.

The LLL was awesome!  They drove 30+ minutes out to our house, gave us a LactAid for free (they're like $70), and were so helpful!  The hospital has LCs that you can make an appointment with (no phone calls or home visits), but it is $65/hour

Ours is through our hospital and is free. You can call or come in any time to see/talk to them and they do a few check in phone calls in the first 3 or so months pp.

$125 for an hour & a half, I think. But she stayed for like 3 hours.

The hospital nearby charges $200 for 90 minutes. They also offer a free open session once a week (it wasn't very good, I got more info & help at an LLL meeting)

The one that came to my house helped a lot.
