If you are nursing, there IS milk and you won't just dry up. Do you give solids after nursing or before? That can have an effect on supply. Did you get dehydrated when you were sick?
It's normal not to feel a letdown.
If you made milk for the first 4 months, then your body is fully equipped to make milk for a long time.
It is normal to not feel let down as baby gets older.
Has diaper out put dropped?
How many times is baby nursing during the day? How old is baby?
As long as you are nursing on demand, and always nursing before offering any solids, you should be fine. Your supply will not just "dry up".
Not drying up by your description. Takes MONTHS to do so. Make sure you nurse before solids. Don't worry about fdeeling letdown. Most moms have stopped feeling it long before the point you've reached, so you're good.
NAH its basically very hard to dry up. Sure supply can be down but not dried up. There are regulations all the time too..especially near a year. Feeling letdown means nothing.
Nurse before any solids, dont give alot of other liquids and offer the breast more. Everything will be FINE
DS got really sick around 9 months, and didn't nurse much for about a week. By the end of that week, I went from pumping 5-7 oz at a time to pumping 1-2 oz at a time. Fenugreek and water didn't help enough, and I was using up my freezer stash. I've found that Mother's Milk Special Blend (I got it on Amazon) has helped get me back to where I need to be. I'm not able to add anything to the freezer, but I'm at least pumping enough for the next day again.
