This.
Quoting larissalarie:
Are you exclusively pumping? If not, pump output is meaningless (plus an ounce is great anyway) As long as baby has at least 6 diapers a day, no worries (what comes out must have gone in)

Baby is the best at getting the milk out! Also, frequent feedings are common. How many diapers are you changing, and are you doing any formula supplementing?
Well first a pump will NEVER be as efficient as feeding. Babies know how to get that milk out and nothing will ever work better. That being said, if he's losing weight or you're exclusively pumping try taking a suppliment for milk supply and try some homeopathic remedies like eating oatmeal or drinking mother's milk tea. As well, if you can, pump every hour and a half with both breasts. You should have at the very least of six wet diapers a day. I can only get an ounce tops from both breasts and just looking at it can be very discouraging. On top of her having severe nipple confusion because of the hospital bottle feeding her after I was discharged, I feel like I'll never get to give my little girl what she needs. Just keep EBFing him and say screw the pump, imo.
Unless you're exclusively pumping, put the pump away. One ounce per side is NORMAL output. More than that is overacheiving.
COUNT DIPES. 6 changes per day means you're fine.
You're textbook perfect... no messing with it. Put the pump away.
