My little guy is 6 months old and he has not gained weight since 4 months. Actually he has lose some weight! He is BF only with a little bit of solids added to help him gain weight! He eats every 3 hours and is happy when he is done eating. I also pump and have no problem getting milk, so I know my milk supply is good! He is know starting to crawl and I am afriad he is going to have even a hard time gaining weight since he is moving now! I DO NOT want to gice him formula, so what should I do? Has anyone else went though this before?
I want to say it's fine since he is happy after meals. How is his diaper count? I know that's a good indicator, more so than weight gain, that a baby is getting enough. What does pedi say? I doubt you will end up having to give him formula. How's your diet? Are you getting enough nutritious food to pass on to him? Are you still taking prenatals? It can only help, not hurt.
What were his weights? How are his diapers? Has he been sick at all? Even a little cold can cause some weight loss. My DD had a cold at about 4.5 months and lost a few ounces, and the ped was not concerned in the least.
Let's get a weight history, please. And is the three hour schedule his own or yours? Imposed schedules can lead to loss.
Is he losing actual ounces or merely percentiles? If percentiles, that's to be expected. Breastfed babies gain at a differnt rate than formula babies and slide down and even off the stupid growth charts. Ignore the charts.

His schedule is everything 3 hours and the Pediatric wants to keep montioring his weight. I go in and weigh him every week or so!

Thanks for posting the weights. Same scale?
Start offering every 90 minutes. Whether he's cueing to be fed or not, just offer. THis weekend, get in bed with him, skin to skin, and do nothing but nurse.
How about his dipes? Are you changing enough dipes? If you're changing plenty of dipes but he's losing, then it's a BABY problem and not a breastmilk problem.
