He's got that, "Mom, have you gone nuts?" look, y'know... he knows where the good stuff is! **grin** Technically, someone is supposed to be holding him unless he's sitting up on his own.
None of my kids ever took bottles with anything in it. We always started giving sippys when they started solids but we never started solids until around 9 months or so. I agree he needs to be held unless he is stitting on his own.
This.. except my little ones started solids around first birthdays.

I always just offered a sippy of water and they "got it" when they were ready to. If he's old enough for solids, he's old enough for a sippy... but he really doesn't "need" water. We just used it for practice.

My first breastfed baby didn't figure out the bottle until he was 8 months or so... Then he was crawling around the house with the bottle sticking out of his mouth.
