Thanks for making me crave chocolate by posting your favorite indulgences ;-) Do you have any more yummy ideas to share?
don't let peoples comments get you down you are doing whats best for baby. and if u are having trouble take a deep breath and take it a day at a time.
If there is trouble with a latch all other avenues should be explored before a mother decides to use a shield. The shield should only be used under the supervision of her physician and/or Lactation Consultant.
I know you mean well and it is great that you didn't have any problems but a lot of issues can occur because of a shield including dehydration, slow weight gain and failure to thrive.

I don't know about any myths but a good tip is that if you are having trouble with latch try using a nipple shield. I would not be able to bf without mine. So I guess the myth would be that a lot of moms can't breastfeed when really you just need to find the tools..
Breasts are not obscene and you are not required to cater to the comfort of ignorant people. Your baby has the right to eat be it publicly or at home, discreetly or uncovered. Period.
You can successfully breastfeed with proper support. If you can't get it from your family there are people you can call.
If you have mastis the best thing for you and your baby is tno NURSE!!!
If your baby is jaundice, nursing on demand is the best thing for baby!!!
Just because your child turns 1 (or whatever age) does not mean you have to wean or that your milk does not benefit baby anymore.
Your pump output is not a direct indication of how much you actually are producing
hmmm,, what else?
Wrong!
LOL! My GMIL told me that since I was small breasted, I would have to formula feed. I BF all 7 of mine.
If your milk supply gets low (for anyone), make sure you are drinking a gallon of water a day, try eating oatmeal, try fenugreek, mother's milk tea, red raspberry leaf tea, keep nursing - don't supplement, and get rest.
I recommend reading as much information you can and become confident that you are doing the right thing.
Also look into attending La Leche League Breastfeeding USA or other breastfeeding support group meetings.
