Too big?

Well now I have done it. I was reading a post about a 6 month that was "too small" and now I wonder if my baby is too damn big!

She has been EBF with a couple tastes of solids but wouldn't even say a meal once. She was born 8lbs 10ounces and 21 inches.

Now by my home scale at a week away from 6 months she is 20lbs. She has steadily gained 2 lbs per month.

I thought it wasn't possible to over feed a bf baby? I eat semi healthy, no fast food or anything.

Please remind me that all babies are different.

I'm pretty sure that's closer to normal than it sounds. All of my friends' babies were around that at six months. It isn't possible to over feed a bf baby, and bf babies are pretty much always healthy but all babies, like all humans are all different. don't worry! =]

Thanks. I try not to compare babies but it is hard!

Every baby is different. My 9.5 month old is 16 pounds 6 ounces, but he has always been on the small side.

1 mom liked this
My oldest was 20 lbs and 26 inches at three months. 9 lbs 14 oz 22.5 inches at birth.

My middlest was 20 lbs at four months..... Don't remember his inches. 8 lbs 12 oz 21.5 inches at birth.

My youngest was 16.5 pounds and 27.25 inches at 6 months. 7 lbs 1 oz 18 inches at birth.

She sounds perfectly perfect. Every baby is different.

My LO has been on the 90% and head a lil off charts since birth, but has grown consistanly so I thought it was normal. She is just a big girl I guess and because she is so long you would never guess 20 lbs I don't think. I'll look for a pic

How long is she?

As long as she is staying on her own growth pattern, I think she is fine. :)

I think at 4 months she was 26 inches and she is definitely longer than that now, maybe 28-29

The first 6 months are unprecedented growth. My boys were around 20 lbs at six months, but only 24 lbs at a year and only 26 lbs at 2 years, so it slows down considerably. Some babies gain like crazy out the gate and then slow down to a steadier curve. Some kids take it much slower the whole time, but end up at the same place.
