My 17 month old son, who typically nurses several hours over the course of a day has only nursed maybe 15 minutes today...when he wasn't busy biting and swatting at me. I am so full and engorged and hurting. :((( Help!

I would pump or hand express to relieve yourself.

Are you attempting to start weaning or did your little guy get cut off today for bad nursing manners? Do you have a pump? Or you can hand express to relieve pressure. Is he sleeping now? Will he wake during the night to nurse? I don't think I ever got bit at night, it was always that nonsense during the day.

I think he already has all the molars he is supposed to have for his age.

No I want to self wean. When he would bite, I would put him in his crib...I would stop nursing but then try again and he wasn't having it. I thought for sure he would nurse at bedtime but nope! My husband is trying to get him down for me. I guess I will have to pump. Do you think its possible he could wean cold turkey like this? He usually nurses through the night, but I guess we'll see.

Just in case something was hurting him, I gave him a little tylenol and teething gel.

Sounds like a nursing strike, like he's playing chicken with you here. He might nurse through the night like normal, because he won't be conscious enough to think about how he "feels" over you "reprimanding" his bad manners. It's *possible* it could lead to weaning if you let it. But if you're still in the game, I'm sure you could get him back.

Definitely won't hurt, jic. My guy was being a booger today too, but he's getting 2 back teeth coming through right now :-(
