My ds is 8 1/2 months old. Nurses every 2-3 hours during the day and all night long. He weighs 23 lbs 4 oz this morning and I'm afraid that is not much more than he weighed at his 6 month check. I can't remember now. His diaper count is down to about 4 wets a day. Is he getting enough? He won't sleep at night he just wants to comfort nurse all night long. Dad can't take him away to rock or he screams and screams. I feel at a loss. This is my 3rd and I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. I need some sleep at night to function during the day with my other kiddos. Also he eats very few solids. Please help!

Maybe try putting feedings closer during the day, to lessen the night ? Are you cosleeping ? I found that having my son in his own room kept him from wanting to nurse all night.

That's okay! Weight gain slows. He should AVERAGE a pound a week from lowest weight as his growth.

btw, as they get older they don't pack the pounds on like they do in the beginning, so if he didn't gain that much, thats ok.
He diapers are not soaked but probably a pee or two's worth. He use to be soaked when I changed him in the morning and now it's about half full. Yes we do co-sleep. I have his crib sidecarred. I loved it at first but he does no stay there at all now. He is in our bed attached all night long. I had a c-section and if he nurses all night long I get crampy and bleed the next day. Don't know if that is normal? He does he very few solids. At most twice a day but not much at all. Just a few bites of something we are all eating. Should I try and move him out of our room?

thats normal during post partum bleeding.....at 8 1/2 months you should not have post partum bleeding anymore. I personally would cntinue cosleeping...well I do. and do not suppliment. sounds like hes getting enough wet diapers and slow weight gain is fine and normal when they get older. most gain a lot in the beginning and then it slows down. keep nursing on deman.

The bleeding is NOT Normal and should be checked out. Something is going on there.
23 lbs is a BIG 8 month old. I'm guessing he gained a lot of weight in the beginning. If he kept that up you wouldn't be able to hold him. =). It's normal for fast gaining babies to slow or stall weight gain in the second six months.
You should NOT supplement him. What he's doing is normal. I moved my son to a separate room at this age because cosleeping no longer allowed me to have quality sleep. I is a phase and very common around 9 months.
Get the bleeding checked out. Not good. Possibly resulting in anemia which would make you even more run down

Mine only started getting solids after 9 months. Before 12 months solids arent necessary.
