i need as many BF mamas as possible to get in here!
He seems to think Orion will develop a boob fetish and walk around grabbing "milkas" (o's word for boobies) of any female he sees. Who says a boob fetish is a bad thing?! Lol. I'm 100% sure men who were never breastfed have boob fetishes too, but I digress.
Anyway, please respond with some info to open his eyes. I think real women with real experience will show him how normal extended BF is and how non-damaging it is.
Include any or all of this plus anything else you think would be helpful to add:
-how long you breastfed any/all of your kids
-how your formerly breastfed children have developed into normal people (lol)
-why/how you decided to nurse for an extended period (for the purposes of this post, we will consider anything past age 1 extended)
-how breastfeeding has helped you and/or your baby
Again, any info you are able/want to provide will be extremely helpful. I also think this post can be shown to any man like mine who think their woman is the only woman on the planet who nurses (neither of our moms did, so I am the only person he has ever known to BF).
Thank you so much! <3
My daughter is 11 months and I plan to breastfeed until at least 2. Breastmilk still provides tons of nutrients and antibodies for babies. It helps reduce the chance of baby getting sick. Also, the longer mom breastfeeds the more it reduces her risk for cancer. kellymom.com has info on extended breastfeeding.
My second is 4 years and two months and nurses occasionally. He is a normal boy and does not go around groping breasts. He doesn't even grope mine. He asks to nurse politely or he doesn't nurse.

First daughter, 17 months, twin boys- one 3 1/2 and one at 4 1/2
-how your formerly breastfed children have developed into normal people (lol)
So far so good LOL My first daughter is 9 and my sons are 5. I think the main thing with them is that they know what breasts are for. It doesn't phase them to see a mom nursing.

My first daughter, I was planning stopping at a year. But then, I realized that day 365 wasn't any different than day 366. So, I continued. With my twins, I knew I'd nurse past a year. It just made sense.

It was another "tool" in my tool box. Also, I really believe that nursing helped one of my twins get over RSV and swine flu quicker than if they weren't nursing.
My boys do not go around grabbing other women's breasts. Nor does my 9 year old daughter. Funny about the boob fetish. My sister said the same thing. So silly.
