Once you wash it, let it dry in the sun. Sometimes it even works after it's been washed. Just rewash and let dry outside.

I use Fels Naphtha.  It is a bar of soap that works great at removing those problem spots.  It can be found in the aisle along with the laundry soap.  Every Walmart that I have been to carries it.

The tide stain release booster that you add to the wash works everytime for me.  I have washed with stain stick/spray and wash etc. and still had stains.  Run again with the booster and clean!  So now I just the booster with every load of kid clothes.  My daughter is in day care, so her clothes come home with the stain dryed and poop still on it!  The tide booster works on those.
