Hey mamas,
New breastfeeder here :) been succesfully EBFing since 2/28/12.

So,I think my milk may be giving my lil guy the runs or getting him gassy...
He poops or farts during almost every feeding.
I just worry if he may be, lactose intolerant like his parents.
Am I worrying over nothing?

I considered calling his pedi to ask, he hadn't had his check up yet. Thought I'd ask the experts first.,

Thank you for reading..

Just give it a couple days, he's just getting used to it most likely. If it lasts for more than a couple days I'd call. You can call now if you want! Couldn't hurt! He's a newborn I'm assuming so you don't wanna risk it too long.

It is normal. Think of breastmilk as a liquid diet- you aren't going to have solids coming out if no solids went in right? He will likely have runny, liquid, slightly seedy stools until you start solid foods. As for gassiness, he could be getting a little air while he nurses, or you could be eating a gas making food that is transmitted through your milk, or he could just be a gassy baby. As long as it isn't uncomfortable for him I wouldn't worry about it.
