My daughter just turned 6 months and didnt gain anything this month. if anything lost an oz.   She has been struggling with weight for some time now.  I feed on demand. and feel diapers are ok.  Im just afraid something is not right or atleast the drs will think so.  She was EBF until yesterday when she started baby food.

History:

Birth- 7lbs 1oz   Dropped to 6lbs 10oz

1 Month-9lbs 6 oz

2 Months- 9lbs 9.6oz

3 Months- 9lbs 9.4oz  Dr put us on a strict 2 hour feeding schedule

4 Months- 11lbs 14oz

5 Months- 12lbs 9oz

6 Months- 12lbs 8oz

She did LOTS of gaining already and is about double lowest weight. Where she should be. She will not gain steadily. Don't worry about month to month... look for an average of one pound per month.

She did THREEE MONTHS gain in her first month. Of course she slowed down! Dump the feeding schedule, back on demand., and serioulsy don't weigh her any more unless you see a milestone problem. Issues show up in dipes and milestones before the scale knows what's going on.

She looks PERFECT. Find a doctor who looks at the baby before looking at the chart; it'll save you heartache.

There's your problem then. WIC is notorious for finding problems where there aren't any & unecessarily worrying moms. Ignore WIC & if pedi makes a big deal about it ignore too. Ditto everything G said.
