Nurshling number three has made her appearance. :)
Hi guys! My third nursling was born yesterday at around 4pm. :) Her name is Kira and she was born at 7lbs 9oz. She started nursing right away. We're working on some latch issues (she fusses a lot, pushes the nipple out repeatedly with her tongue and then clamps down and "chews" on my nipple. Gotta work on the pirannah latch for sure. My hospital has IBCLCs on staff, so just met with one and didn't learn much new. Just confirmed that she's doing something with her tongue and that when it hurts I need to unlatch her and re-latch her.
The cool thing is that she peed and had a massive meconium blow-out since birth but still weighs 7lbs 9oz, so she has not lost any weight. That means even though she's got a bit of a torturous latch, transfer is good.
No tongue tie/lip tie. Just a bit of an uncoordinated suck

Congrats! Can you work on suck training with your finger or a soothie? I used to get Nathan sucking well on one of those and then quickly transfer him to the breast. He had trouble even sucking on a bottle when we had to supplement.
