Dont' worry... it's actually a yeast infection. I had it with my first daughter. The biggest symptoms we had was, she had little white spots inside of her mouth and I was having pain and bleeding while I was pumping. Your pedi probably wont' even ask to see you just give an antibiotic for her.

The biggest pain is that you have to sterilize everything often. I suggest getting a microwave sterilizer as it makes the job much faster and easier. Rest easy, mama! It's not horrible, and I don't think it really hurts baby at all either!

Well if you're not using bottles at all - I was back to work and pumping, then you don't need to worry. If you are using a pacifier, that should be sterilzied often, if you pump at all, then your pump parts need to be sterizlied.

It was about 4 years ago, so I'm not quite sure, but I want to say that we had to go through the sterilizing process for about 2 weeks or so.

Ok thank you for your info... I don't have anything to sterilize but I will just keep my body as clean as possible for her. Thank you again :)

Get Gentian Violet from local pharmacy. Paint your nipple with it, then nurse baby. Do it a few times a day. Heads up tho, it's purple and it stains! lol, but it's one of the best ways of getting rid of it!

Until symptoms are gone. By painting your nipple with it, you're treating yourself (if you have it) and also treating baby.
Kellymom.com has more info on it :)

Alright second day using the Gentian Violet... Very purple it is lol luckily DD is very good and we haven't stained anything but the inside of her mouth and my nipples lol. I did have to go to the doc because no one has the GV and took her to the doc they gave her nystatin and it gave her a really bad diaper rash so I stopped it on day two of taking that (would stay away from that for any future moms wanting to know about Nystatin it didn't really help and the diaper rash/ what I think was actually giving her a yeas infection was horrible) so here's to Gentian Violet it's seems to be working thus far :) Thanks everyone for all your advice
