Weird Reoccuring spinning sensation? Ot

These spells started when I was 4 months pregnant & I'm 6 months postpartum so I guess it's been almost a year that I've been getting these. Everything starts spinning, can't see straight or walk straight, like I'm very very drunk (but I'm not). I also get very tired & then a mild headache that lingers for hours. These dizziness spells start suddenly & end suddenly after an hour. They don't happen very often but often enough... Like once a month?

Is this normal for breastfeeding?? I have eaten, drank water, not had more than a cup of coffee, & taken prenatals when it happens so I have no idea what's causing this. I have been trying to lose weight but only by limiting junk, not by restricting calories. I don't know any breastfeeders so I don't have anyone to ask. Idk if maybe its hormone related? Anyone else experience this? Dh is getting a little worried so Idk if this is something to be concerned about but I may have to call a dr about it soon. I just don't know!

I get woozy spells like that when my blood pressure drops. I almost always have low blood pressure anyway, but definitely have more pronounced issues when standing up quickly. I also get problems with low blood sugar, if I'm not eating enough. And crap, if that isn't enough, I also suffer from recurrent bouts of SSRI discontinuation syndrome from antidressant use years ago, and that makes my head spinny sometimes. My first suspicion is a blood pressure thing, either too high or too low. Try to get it checked when you're having a spell.

Sounds like vertigo.  It could be, and most likely is, completely benign.  It can also be a sign of some really serious problems in your ears and brain.  But, the most likely possibility is "benign positional vertigo."  A balance specialist can give you simple exercises to correct it.

I get this too!! My thyroid is slightly underactive but wasn't enough for meds a year ago. I am going to get a blood check because i can't function like this.

doesn't sound like it has anything to do with nursing to me. Sounds like vertigo which CAN be serious but isn't always. My mother has Meneire's disease &  it  started with vertigo attacks. If it's been going on this long *I* wouldn't let it go I would have it seen about.

This happens to me too and they found out I was vitamin D deficient and anemic.  I would go get checked ASAP.  Hugs!

Yes, definitely sounds like vertigo, and no, not at all associated with breastfeeding. See your doc. You might also get referred to an ENT.
