Anyone ever try Laid Back nursing?

In the womanly art of breastfeeding, there is a section about "laid back nursing." It basically involves lying the baby on your chest and letting gravity do the work, with you moving the baby as need to help latch. The claims are that it is less painful, and that the latch is better in most sessions because you're working with gravity instead of the baby trying to keep her head up on your breast as in a sitting position. I'm only 26 weeks pregnant, but this sounds like something I would like to try immediately after delivery. Anyone ever try it?

I have done it for a overactive letdown and over production. My son is now 20 months and loves to climb over me to grab a snack.

I did with my dd when she was younger. I didn't have any pain or latch issues to begin with so no difference there but she did seem to nurse better without unlatching as much.

She's 9 months now and for her morning nursing she likes to sit and stand beside me and lean over me to nurse, she's a nut.

I have trouble with it cause my ds wants to lay his head down and he can't get comfortable this way

Did it for MONTHS. Highly recommend it if you have fast letdown.

I still do it often for an overactive letdown. But my baby crawled up and latched on minutes after delivery.

It works tremendously for overactive letdown :)

Haven't tried that! I nurse on my side at night with him laying next to me though

I'm doing it right now (literally) but I am because of an over supply & over active letdown.

I was worried about where the baby's head would go but he can still kind of rest it on my arm while keeping it upright.

I have no issues or problems with doing it.
