If my 6 mth old hasnt gained much weight in the, last mth or so?? I took him to the pedi today and they weighed him and with clothes on he weighed 17 lbs even. so without clothes he weighs about 16+ lbs. so hes only gained ounces, right? They didnt measure him cause I took him to get his skin checked cause hes been havin dry patches. So will this be normal?

Assuming he didn't weigh over 10 pound at birth, his gain is great. 6 pounds above lowest weight at 6 months is all your looking for. That's why weight has to be looked at over time.

I don't remember weight history, but you want to look at overall weight gain. At 6 months he should be at 6 lbs over lowest weight or more.

Yup, weight gain slows down 4-6 months & can be even slower months 6-12

Double birth weight. Great!
You don't look at month to month growth but average over his lifespan. He gained a lot at one point, so slowing down would be expected.

So, accounting for the normal loss after birth, he has more than doubled his weight. He's perfect.
Quoting McM0609:
He weighed 8lbs 4oz at birth.
