My dd will be 4 months on the 24th. Over the last 3 days she has been eating non stop. She will nurse for 30-45 minutes and stop for about an hour and then nurse again. as soon as I try to put her down she will start frantically rooting like she is starving or something. My back has been hurting for several days so I can't put her in the sling or wrap. My house work is falling behind and I haven't been able to play with my 4 year old much :(

Awww I know the feeling girl!!! When was your dd born? I have 2 kids the same age as yours. Maybe a growth spurt and I wouldn't worry about the house too much it won't stay clean after your ydd gets mobile anyway :) lol that's what I have to tell myself cause I'm sooo used to my house being company ready 95 percent of the time!!

Ah. I remember those days. Probably just a growth spurt, hang in there, it will be over soon. :)

Can your 4 year old play games WHILE baby is nursing? Maybe play dough or something at the table?

I agree do you have any friends with 8-9 year olds that could come over and help? That age would be great at entertaining your 4 year old, helping with laundry and picking up toys, etc so you can focus on nursing.

Normal stuff. The housework will wait! Or..make a game of THAT for your four year old, as long as it doesn't deal with hazardous waste of heavy equipment! Mine actually vacuumed for me at that age... sort of... and now, eight years later I can' get him to pick up his room!

This is a normal growth spurt. It is one of the worst for some moms. You have been given some great suggestions. Hang in there! It won't last forever.

Leave the house work for now, it'll still be there in a couple of days, I promise :). Keep nursing because she is going through a growth spurt and you will keep up. Don't underestimate your body, it knows what to do. Have your 4 year old help mommy while you stay in bed with the baby. Keep up the good work momma!
