With my son I never needed them and with my daughter I did til about 10 weeks. Have you thought of using cloth breast pads? I imagine they'd save money in the long run.

They do save money but they stick to my nipples and cause more pain than the bad latch my son has is :(

I only wore them for a few months and then only while baby was eating because when baby started on one side, the other would leak.

I have to wear them the whole first year, but a big box of 60 lansinoh disposable pads is only like $10 so that lasts a month. Waaayyyyy cheaper than formula!

With my first I wore them for 9 months. I bough about a dozen cotton/flannel ones and washed them.

With my second I wore them for about 5 months. (With my first I didn't breastfeed.) I had my 3rd in Dec. and I haven't worn one breastpad.
