Ugh! I really hate when I see my friends on facebook saying that in so many weeks or days for their babies first birthday they're cutting them off the boob... I just think, happy birthday! Now here's an awesome gift for you... No more nursing...
Poor babies :(
Yes I know all babies are different, but if the baby shows no sign in wanting to stop, why force it?
Ok vent over!!
K just to clarify, I never discredited women who actually made it to that year. Actually, I too applaud them... But I don't understand why it's necessary to Abruptly stop just cause they're 1...

The sad part is the baby not understanding why he/she can't nurse anymore and all the tears. I have started to wean and if you do it slowly there are less tears. Now we are just nursing to sleep and maybe one more nursing during the day. I tried to night wean - hubby got up to put him back to sleep, he cried off an on for 3 hours!

I'm my personal case with my first two children it was ignorance and lack of info. I didnt have any family member or friends (at that time) that had nursed, therefore I was pretty much on my own. I thought that I had to stop nursing to finish up college and with the second to return to work. This third baby has it pretty good. I learned a lot and returned to work after a year and I'm continuing to nurse (lo is days short of 18 mo). Wish I could turn back time and nurse my first two till at least two :(
