So my 4 1/2 month old has been having runny, mucusy poops about a week now. Totally happy, no gas, eats normal, lots of wet diapers, no fever. Not fussy. And i really haven't eaten anything new in the last week. Though the week prior I was having a lot of soup bc I was sick. The only different veggie In the soup has been yucca which I guess I could cut out to see (visiting my Dominican in laws they eat it a lot. ) but if it's not that, I'm wondering if babys can develop sensitivities to foods suddenly? Like I've always been a big dairy girl...if we've gone 19 weeks breastfeeding on dairy with no issues, can it then become an issue week 20?

Yes.. by what a Dr told me. My grandma had been on a certain heart medication for 5 years. Last month she had an extreme allergic reaction to it and had to be hospitalized.

Sometimes baby's poops change when they are teething, or if they get too much foremilk.

That's what I was thinking! But after a week I was starting to doubt myself. And the only thing I've eaten different in the past 2 weeks has been yucca and plantains and I didn't think they were very allergenic! As long as he's happy and hydrated and no fever...do you think there is anything else to worry about?

No, if it's not bothering her, then I wouldn't worry about it. Baby's digestive systems are funny sometimes. It could just be a change in the way she is digesting food. Don't forget her insides are developing and preparing themselves for solid food, so many changes are happening. If she starts spitting up a lot or if there is blood in her poop then I wd worry.

2 moms liked this
Allergies can develop at any time, but my bet would be it's excess drool from teething.
