One of those "I want to curl up and cry" kinda days.-EDIT for more info
I have been hurting for the last 3-4 months non stop. I get sharp shooting pains through my left breast and now in the last day I've gotten them in my right a bit. They are usually on top and go up into my arm pit. When I went to see a lc she said that sometimes you can have milk ducts that don't get drained. She said to put pressure on it and force the milk down?? Not sure on that. I have treated us for thrush a few times but I'm not sure that's it. I think it happens more after she's eaten. Today was the worst yet and I am living on ibuprofen because I honestly can't function without it.
I love breastfeeding. With just my left breast hurting I kept thinking "I'll just tough it out for another year and a half or so" and I can do that but I'm not sure I can take both of them hurting. I don't know if it's vasospasms or what.
When the shooting pains happen my instinct is to put pressure on the spot. Even squeezing it helps. Would that be spasms?
If I can't figure this out then I guess I'll live with it but it would be nice to be pain free for awhile. I HATE taking meds while breastfeeding and I've been taking something everyday for months. That bothers me.
EDIT TO ADD- I thought I should mention also that I get really bad blanching on my left nipple. It's usually white when I get the shooting pains.
Alisha- Married to Terry for about 3 years (Been together for over 10), mom to Blake , 02-99, and our little miracle girl Rylee, 01-12, who was conceived after 9 1/2 years TTC. She has healed my broken heart. I am a pro-breastfeeding, baby wearing, cloth diapering (still figuring this one out), co-sleeping kinda Mommy. I am opinionated and some times come acoss judgemental (which honestly I can be but I'm working on this) but I'm really just stating my opinion and love to hear others as well.
